What is the Franklin Method®
The human body is designed to move freely and efficiently. The body is made to move and movement should feel good. So why does it not?
For most of us we start out well, moving efficiently and effortlessly, but as we get older things start to happen. We pick up bad posture from family or the “cool kids”. Injuries can effect how we move our bodies even after injuries heal. How we learn to cope with the stresses of life that come our way change our posture and movement patterns. We choose lifestyles that affect us. Perhaps we are in front of a computer most of the day, or we have chosen a sport that makes us feel great and healthy but is killing our knees, our hips or elbows. You get the picture. The body arrives ready to move well and stuff gets in the way.
Luckily we can change that. We can get back to the well functioning body that enjoys movement. And for those bodies that are challenged by physical conditions and injury they too can find some relief, they can improve.
The Franklin Method classes teach an understanding of how the body is designed to move well with activities that give an immediate experience. Combined with the powerful use of mental imagery techniques change can happen quickly. Even long standing body function issues can be addressed.
The brain still remembers how the body is designed to move. It remembers those early days of efficient movement and it wants to move that way again.
The Franklin Method is used by high performance athletes, dancers, artists, people recovering from injury and people looking to move and feel better

Franklin Method® Workshops
The Franklin Method® classes I teach consist of both workshops and classes. In a two hour workshop I introduce a topic such as "Pelvic Power". In the workshop students will learn to understand the way the pelvis is designed to work most efficiently by understanding how the bones move in relation to each other and most especially by embodying this knowledge. One of the great strengths of this method is that the information is delivered in a manner that allows the student to experience it in their own body. This way they have a true physical understanding of the material and what they learn will last beyond the end of the class and ultimately change for the better their use of their body. Not to mention how much better they will feel.
In the one hour classes returning students can practice the concepts learned in the workshop. Embodying the information more and deepening the experience. This is where real change can take place. The concepts can be reinforced and explored deeper. There is the opportunity to introduce more information and to apply the work to real life situations that will effect the students everyday life and work. In order to take the class the workshop for that topic must be taken.
A major component of the Franklin Method® is the use of imagery. It assists us to experience the physicality of the exercise in the moment and to move towards full physical potential. Imagery is a powerful tool that activates the brain and nervous system in a vivid manner to make change quickly and effectively.
The four workshops being offered are :
Dynamic Imagery
Pelvic Power for Core Integration
Relax your Neck - Liberate your Shoulders
Imagery for a Healthy and Youthful Spine
